I’ve Been Keeping This Secret Long Enough

For months, every time I’ve opened Procreate or stared at my computer screen, this image has been sitting there. Waiting. I’ve almost shared it more times than I can count. But I wanted to wait until it was right. Until the story was ready. Until Who We Become finally felt close enough that seeing the cover meant something.

Today, it does.

One of my favorite parts of being an indie author is that I got to build this world from the ground up. I created these characters. I obsessed over every chapter. I poured myself into the chapter art. And when it came time to create the cover, I couldn’t hand it to someone else.

I needed it to feel like the story, not just look pretty. Every object on this cover was chosen because it belongs to the world of Arison. Each detail has a reason for existing. Some of them you’ll understand the moment you start reading. Others won’t click until the final page, just like book one. I won’t spoil which is which.

What I will tell you is this: Who We Become is the book that challenged me the most as a writer. It asked more of these characters than I ever thought I would. There were scenes I celebrated, scenes that completely wrecked me, and more than one moment where I sat back and wondered if readers would ever forgive me.

I hope they do. Because this story deserves every ounce of what it asks from them. And now, no more teasing. No more cropped images. No more keeping it hidden.

I’d love for you to meet Who We Become.

I hope you love it as much as I loved creating it.

Thank you for believing in this series, for cheering on Olivia and the Arison’s, and for making this indie author’s dream feel a little less impossible.

August 11th is getting closer…and I can’t wait for you to discover Who We Become.

Until the next plot twist, Teresa
